A popular Atlantic County restaurant will be closing after more than 60 years, the owners announced. Al and Mildred Ulrich announced the Tilton Inn will close on April 27. The pair opened the Tilton Road restaurant in 1963. A 30-year-old National Guardsman changing his tire on the shoulder of the Capital Beltway was struck and killed by a DUI driver and his girlfriend seriously injured over the weekend in Virginia, according to police and loved ones. Gregory B. Bruington, Jr., of Newport News, was in the shoulder of the westbound lanes at mile marker 175 in Fairfax, when he was struck by Carlos L. Fire Rips Through Fairfax County Home
Firefighters quickly doused a blaze that broke out at a Fairfax County home early Wednesday, March 13. Firefighters were called to a home on Silver Anne Drive in Lorton around 6:30 a.m., where heavy fire was showing from the side of the home. Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control. Propane Company Sees Restrictions Following Home Explosion That Killed Virginia Firefighter
A propane company has been issued temporary restrictions in Loudoun County in the weeks following a home explosion that killed a firefighter, officials said. The Feb. 16 explosion at 347 Silver Ridge Dr., in Sterling, was caused by a leaking 500-gallon propane tank, the Loudoun County Fire and Rescue Fire Marshal’s Office (LCFR-FMO) said. The investigation showed that propane leaked into the tank and around the structure and was ignited by an ignition source, that remains unknown. Two Dead In Fiery Spotsylvania Crash Identified: State Police
Two people died in a fiery crash early Monday, March 11 in Spotsylvania County, authorities said. A 2023 Jeep Compass was heading east on Route 636 when the driver, Henry L. Minor, of Fredericksburg, crossed a double solid yellow centerline, ran off the left side of the roadway, and collided with a tree around 7:25 a.m., a spokesperson for the Virginia State Police said. Pilot Unscathed After Virginia Plane Crash
A Michigan pilot miraculously survived a small plane crash in Virginia Tuesday evening, March 12, officials said. Travis M. Berlin, 45, of Parma, MI, made an emergency landing in a field of the 1400 block of Steed Lane in Warren County around 5 p.m., Virginia State Police said. The aircraft landed in a field and struck several trees. Berlin was the only occupant and was not injured. The FAA and NTSB were notified and the incident remains under investigation.
