Tree Trimmer Killed In Electrical Accident In Nassau County, Cops Say A Long Island tree trimmer was killed in an electrical accident Thursday, Sept. 24, police said. The man was cutting down a tree on Tanwood Court in Bellmore around 5:30 p.m. Thursday when things went awry, the Nassau County Police Department said. As he was cutting, a downed limb struck an electrical line, authorities said. That caused the tree to become energized, electrocuting the man, police said. First responders arrived and pronounced the man dead at the scene. He has not been publicly identified, and an investigation is ongoing.
