As peak driving season rapidly approaches, the average gas price in Connecticut has topped $3 per gallon for the first time since 2014. Connecticut gas prices reached an average of $3.01 per gallon on Friday, according to AAA, 26 cents higher than a month ago and 51 cents higher than a year ago.
