US Marshals agents arrested a Florida man on manslaughter charges in Philadelphia following a Christmas assault in New Jersey that led to the death of his brother-in-law, a popular bagel shop owner, authorities said.
John E. Meyers, 69, of Port St. Lucie, FL, was charged with second-degree manslaughter in connection with the death of Frank Vincent Vitrano Jr., 72, of Buena, who records show owns Bellevue Bagel Cafe in Hammonton, according to Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. A teenage suspect is accused of pointing a gun at a store employee and threatening to kill him after demanding tobacco products at a Chambersburg business, police announced on Friday, Jan. 2.
The incident happened around 4:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 1, when a male entered a store at 103 S. Main St., showed a firearm to the employee behind the counter, and demanded tobacco products, according to Chambersburg Police.
When the employee refused, the suspect threatened to kill him, police said.
