Firefighters Battle Brush Fire In South Jersey
Firefighters were battling a large brush fire in Burlington County. The fire had consumed about seven acres as of Friday afternoon, July 22, initial reports said. Pemberton Township Volunteer Fire Department said it was assisting the New Jersey Forest Fire Service. The fire is on Ridgeview Avenue behind Browns Mills Arms Apartments. No structures were in danger and there had been no evacuations, the fire department said. Ridgeview Avenue was closed between Junction and Lakehurst roads. State forest fire crews were continuing backfiring operations, officials said.

Brush Fire Torches 11 Acres At Former Western Mass Landfill
Firefighters from several departments helped contain an 11-acre brush fire that occurred in Hampshire County Tuesday, the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services said in a release. Granby firefighters responded to the fire in area of a former landfill at 11 New Ludlow Road around 2:35 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12, the department said. It was soon brought to multiple alarms and required help from several neighboring departments and statewide task forces. A Siberian Husky fleeing from noisy fireworks was rescued by Monmouth County Sheriff's Officers off the Jersey Shore. Caiden, a 10-year-old dog, was saved after swimming about a mile and a half off Union Beach, authorities said. Sheriffs' Officers Michael Forgione and Kasey Collins located Caiden and brought him on board in the Raritan Bay, navigating shallow waters to reunite him with his grateful owner. A Friday morning brush fire was causing traffic delays on Route 287 in Morris County, authorities said. A New York City resident allegedly violated the statewide brush burn ban which caused a wildland fire in the region.
