The District man who assaulted a Congresswoman in the elevator of her Northeast DC apartment building has been sentenced to time behind bars, federal authorities announced. Kendrid Khalil Hamlin, 26, was sentenced to 27 months in prison, followed by 36 months of supervised release after he attacked Minnesota Rep. There was nothing peaceful about Wednesday night's protest outside the Democratic National Committee Headquarters, according to US Capitol Police (USCP) officials who were forced to fend off a rowdy crowd.
