A Connecticut woman was arrested after police found her slumped over the steering wheel of a running vehicle on a highway off-ramp, with suspected drugs hidden under her seat, authorities said.
Rebecca Johnson, 39, was taken into custody after police responded to reports of a vehicle blocking traffic on the Exit 50 off-ramp on Route 8 in Torrington just after 7 p.m. Monday, March 3, Connecticut State Police said.

Steven R. Sharp, 41, of Lancaster, was taken into custody earlier in the day, police said. Sharp had been sought in connection with an incident on Oct. 23, 2023, in the 700 block of South Queen Street, where he allegedly possessed drugs with the intent to deliver them, according to police.

A late-night traffic stop in Connecticut led to the arrest of a local man after police found a stolen firearm, ammunition, and marijuana packaged for sale in his vehicle, police said.
At approximately 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, Bristol officers were conducting motor vehicle enforcement on Pine Street when police stopped Shawn Rodriguez, of Bristol, for a headlight violation, Lt. Eric Hanson said. During the stop, officers noticed an improperly stored firearm inside Rodriguez’s vehicle. The firearm was later determined to be stolen.
