14-Year-Old Accused Of Igniting Car Fire In Stamford
A 14-year-old boy has been apprehended for starting a car fire in Fairfield County with stolen fireworks. The fire took place in Stamford on Sunday, June 5, in the parking lot of 587 Elm St. According to Sgt. Sean Scanlan, of the Stamford Police, firefighters responded to the scene and found a 2008 Honda SUV on fire. After the fire was extinguished and investigators began looking into the cause of the blaze. Multiple Houses Damaged In Maryland When Illegal Fireworks Spark Outdoor Blaze
A late-night fireworks show in Maryland led to multiple Dorchester County homes getting damaged when one went awry and set an outdoor trash pile ablaze, according to the state fire marshal. A team of nearly two dozen firefighters from the Rescue Fire Company in Cambridge responded to a Hubbard Street home shortly before midnight on Tuesday, Aug. 2, where there was a reported trash fire that broke out. Fireworks Mistaken For Gunshots Puts Arlington School In Lockdown: Police
Washington-Liberty High School was place on lockdown when fireworks were mistaken for gunshots Tuesday, July 19, authorities said. Officers arrived at the school at around 7:50 a.m. and found evidence of fireworks that were set off, Arlington County Police reported. Police said no injuries were reported and no weapons were found, but the school will remain in lockdown until officers search the entire building. This is a developing story. Check back for updates.

Investigators Probe Fort Lee Apartment Building Blaze
People shooting off fireworks apparently were responsible for igniting a fire at a Fort Lee apartment complex, authorities said. Members of the borough Fire Prevention Bureau were investigating what responders said was an accidental July 4th blaze at Arrive Fort Lee on Crest Lane. Firefighters doused the flames, which had spread to the building from two Dumpsters ignited by fireworks shortly after 9:30 p.m. Monday. A Siberian Husky fleeing from noisy fireworks was rescued by Monmouth County Sheriff's Officers off the Jersey Shore. Caiden, a 10-year-old dog, was saved after swimming about a mile and a half off Union Beach, authorities said. Sheriffs' Officers Michael Forgione and Kasey Collins located Caiden and brought him on board in the Raritan Bay, navigating shallow waters to reunite him with his grateful owner. Wayward fireworks may have started a fire that destroyed a 3,000-square-foot home in the Hudson Valley. The fire started in Orange County in the town of Goshen around 10 p.m., Monday, July 4 at a two-story home on Corral Lane in the Harness Estates development.
