The Old Bridge Police Department is mourning the unexpected death of one of its own.
Officer Andrew Paterek died on Monday, June 23, the Old Bridge PBA Local 127 said.
“Andrew was more than a dedicated officer,” the PBA said in a statement. “He was a friend, a protector, and a true example of what it means to serve with integrity and compassion. His kindness, humility, and commitment to our community touched countless lives. Calvin Harrje, a New Jersey resident and firefighter, was killed in a car crash in Vineland on Thursday, May 29.
At 6:03 p.m., officers responded to Hance Bridge Road at the intersection with Pennsylvania Avenue after a 2022 Dodge Ram pickup truck, traveling northbound on Hance Bridge Road, struck a 2023 red Ford Maverick that failed to stop at the stop sign on Pennsylvania Avenue while traveling eastbound, Vineland police said.

Patrick McGlynn, who had lived in Jackson Township for the last 21 years, died on Friday, May 30, following a routine colonoscopy, according to a fundraiser set up to support his family. He was 58.
McGlynn was born in Brooklyn and graduated from Fairfield University, according to his obituary. He was a foreign exchange manager for Credit Suisse Bank prior to his retirement, his obituary reads.
