Driver Escapes Injury After Hitting Pole, Flipping Vehicle On Route 22, Police Say A Hudson Valley man escaped injury after he lost control of his vehicle and struck a utility pole. The crash took place around 7:20 a.m., Friday, June 4, in Putnam County, on Route 22 in Patterson, said Trooper AJ Hicks. Byron R. Duarte Giron, age 23, of Dover, was driving a 2010 Mazda southbound when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a pole and overturned, said Trooper AJ Hicks. Route 22 has reopened. No charges will be filed in the case.
