David Romanski, a longtime North Jersey resident known for his career in auto sales and devotion to his family, died on Friday, Dec. 12. He was 53 years old. Romanski lived in Nutley but was raised and spent much of his life in Lyndhurst, according to his obituary on the Nazare Memorial Home website. He lived briefly in West Milford before moving to Nutley in 2012. A Somerset man was seriously injured in a crash involving a disabled car on I-287 early Sunday, Aug. 31, New Jersey State Police said. Troopers responded at 3:41 a.m. to the southbound lanes near milepost 34.5 in Morris Township, according to Sgt. Charles Marchan. A preliminary investigation found that a Toyota passenger car driven by a 49-year-old Somerset man left the roadway to the right, struck an arrow board, re-entered traffic, and became disabled, Marchan said. Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Vehicle In Nutley: Prosecutor
A 77-year-old man was fatally struck by a vehicle in Nutley on the evening of Thursday, March 27, authorities said. At 6:30 p.m., Nutley police responded to Franklin Avenue and Chestnut Street and found Lee Gilbert hit by a car, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said. Gilbert was transported to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead soon after, authorities said. The driver remained on the scene, authorities said. The investigation is ongoing, authorities said.

Two Juveniles Arrested For Vehicle Theft: Nutley PD
Two juveniles have been apprehended after a car was stolen in Nutley last month, police said. On Wednesday, March 6 at 4:21 a.m., the two juveniles entered a home on Alexander Avenue through a rear door and stole the keys to a Land Rover parked in the driveway, Police Director Alphonse Petracco and Chief Thomas Strumolo said. The vehicle was recovered in East Orange a day later, police said. The juveniles have been charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and motor vehicle theft, police said.
