A Paterson man was arrested after police say he stole packages from a Haledon home and shoplifted from a local Walgreens, authorities announced.
Police received a report of a package theft from a residence on Post Street in Haledon on Tuesday, Feb. 3, at approximately 3:51 p.m., according to police. The caller reported that a white male with a goatee, wearing a black beanie hat, black jacket, black pants, and white sneakers, delivered packages from the property, Haledon Police Chief Angelo J. Serial Porch Pirate Followed Delivery Trucks Through Garfield, Busted Again: Cops
A 36-year-old serial porch pirate is in custody again, police said.
Jaquiece S. Smith was arrested on Wednesday, June 11, following an investigation by the Garfield Police Criminal Investigation Division that found he followed delivery trucks and stole items off porches, according to a press release issued by Captain Mario Pozo.
Smith had been trailing Amazon, USPS, UPS, and FedEx trucks throughout May and June, waiting for packages to be dropped off before taking them from unsuspecting victims, Pozo said.

A Waldwick woman with a criminal history has been arrested for stealing packages from a local apartment building, police said.
Marialyse Debel, 64, was taken into custody outside her home on Wednesday, Feb. 12, following an investigation by the Waldwick Police Detective Bureau, Lt. Troy E. Seifert said.

Three people, including a Santa hat-wearing alleged burglar, face charges after they were seen stealing packages from a lobby in Westchester, police said.
