Newark Liberty International Airport’s tired, overcrowded Terminal B is finally getting a long-awaited facelift under a new $200 million overhaul announced by the Port Authority of NY/NJ.
The first $75 million phase of the project was approved Thursday, May 21, and will begin this year, targeting some of travelers’ biggest complaints inside the 53-year-old terminal — cramped gate areas, aging restrooms, broken escalators, outdated elevators, harsh lighting, and worn passenger spaces.
