Two men are facing felony drug charges after troopers seized more than 600 grams of cocaine during a traffic stop on Interstate 890 in Schenectady County, police said.
Schenectady residents Ammar K. Elordi, 36, and Brian K. Jackson, 38, were arrested late Monday night, Feb. 23, New York State Police announced on Wednesday, Feb. 25.
According to police, troopers stopped a vehicle just before 10:30 p.m. on I-890 in Rotterdam for a traffic violation. Elordi was identified as the driver and Jackson as a passenger, authorities said.

Jeffrey Bashaw, 56, was found guilty of second-degree murder and related charges by a Schenectady County jury on Wednesday, Aug. 20, in the death of Leroy Chisom.
Bashaw and co-defendant Kevin Dingle lured the 41-year-old Chisom from his bedroom on State Street in Schenectady on Oct. 22, 2023, prosecutors said. The two men, wearing masks, gloves, and dark clothing, shot Chisom at least five times each before fleeing in under a minute.

Mufid Fawaz Alkhader, 29, of Schenectady, pleaded guilty in February to a federal hate crime for the Dec. 7, 2023, incident at Temple Israel, as Daily Voice previously reported.

Charles Ferrara, 52, of Schenectady, was arrested on suspicion of felony grand larceny on Sunday, June 8, following an investigation by the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.
Ferrara was hired by a Clifton Park resident to perform handyman-type work, and accepted a check for $1,045 from the client, deputies said.
