Shoplifting, DWI Arrests, Pedestrian Crash Highlight Wyckoff Police Blotter
Wyckoff police reported a series of arrests and investigations involving shoplifting, drunken driving, and vehicle-related incidents in a department blotter released Friday, Dec. 12, which dates back to early fall (see attached).
On Thursday, Dec. 4, at approximately 3:15 p.m., a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Franklin Avenue and Monroe Avenue, police said. Waldwick's John ‘Jack’ Schultz, Softball Coach, Dad, ALS Volunteer, Dies At 45
John “Jack” Schultz died after a long and courageous battle with illness, his family said.
Schultz, 59, spent months in intensive care before his passing, according to a GoFundMe launched by his brother, Kevin. As of Sunday, June 29, the campaign had raised more than $24,000 to help cover his medical and funeral expenses.
Schultz, who lived in Waldwick and Spring Lake, was known for his cutting wit, warm smile, and unwavering loyalty to the people and teams he loved, including the Yankees, the Giants, and Don Bosco, his family wrote in his obituary with Vander Plaat Funeral Home.

Keri Dolores Mancini, a yoga instructor and Bergen County native, died unexpectedly on Monday, April 14, 2025, according to her obituary on the Becker Funeral Home website. She was 41 years old.
Keri was born in Westwood on January 19, 1984, to the late Kaney and Kelly (Smith) Mancini. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Kyle Mancini.

Arsonist, DUI Driver Arrested Again — This Time For Waldwick Package Thefts, Police Say
A Waldwick woman with a criminal history has been arrested for stealing packages from a local apartment building, police said.
Marialyse Debel, 64, was taken into custody outside her home on Wednesday, Feb. 12, following an investigation by the Waldwick Police Detective Bureau, Lt. Troy E. Seifert said.
Authorities began looking into reports of stolen deliveries from The Station Apartments at 41 West Prospect St., on Feb. 3. Detective T.J. Palaia identified Debel as a suspect, leading to her arrest, police said.

A shoplifting incident at an Ulta store in New Jersey led to a police pursuit, a crash, and the arrest of two Connecticut women after a chaotic chase, authorities said.
Ramsey police responded to reports of a shoplifting in progress at Ulta, located at 1255 Route 17 South, around 4:09 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, according to Detective Jaclyn Sabatelli. An alert FedEx driver pointed police in Waldwick to a Bronx man waiting on a quiet dead-end street for packages that he fraudulently had delivered there, authorities said.
