On Jan. 1, the state’s minimum wage will increase by 75 cents to $13.50 per hour. The hike has been on the books for years and is one of many planned increases that will bring Massachusetts’ minimum wage up to $15 per hour in 2023. Massachusetts passed legislation in 2018 to grow the minimum wage from $11 to $15 over five years.
