Wildfire Burning In Connecticut Has Consumed Acres Of Parkland
A wildfire that has consumed 50 acres is burning in Connecticut. Wildlife in Natchaug State Forest off Route 203 and the Air Line Trail has been burning since Wednesday, Sept. 16, afternoon, the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection said. The fire is being battled by North Windham, Windham Central, and South Windham Fire departments as well as the DEEP. Authorities Admit Wrongly Identifying Pair As Arsonists, Fire Investigation Continues
Authorities said they wrongly identified a pair of individuals as suspects in last weekend's Delaware Water Gap fire after posting photos of them to their Facebook page Thursday. The investigation into the Mount Tammany blaze, which took firefighters several days to extinguish, was continuing, they said. Smoke From California Wildfires Visible In New York, New Jersey
Your eyes weren't deceiving you if you thought things looked hazier this week in the New York City area. Smoke from California's deadly wildfires drifted east Monday and was visible in parts of New York and New Jersey, according to a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration map.
