Letter To The Editor: Bob Outhouse Is Unqualified Daily Voice accepts signed and original letters to the editor up to 350 words. To send a letter, e-mail ossining@dailyvoice.com. To the Editor: Mr. Outhouse brags about his record as a well-loved officer who never had any complaints or issues against him. That is not true. This happened about twenty-two years ago. I was on my way to teach my evening class at Westchester Community College when a cop from a northern Westchester town made an illegal turn and hit my car. The driver’s partner came over to my car to see if I was okay. He said, “I don’t know what he [his partner] was thinking.” A…

Letter To The Editor: Vote Pound Ridge Republicans Daily Voice accepts signed and original letters to the editor up to 350 words. To send a letter, e-mail poundridge@dailyvoice.com. To the editor: This seems like an easy election in Pound Ridge. The current Town Board majority is doing a fine job. Taxes are stable, there is progress in Scotts Corners, new residents are moving in. The Democratic platform seems to have three planks: (1) Raise our property values. But what do they know about raising property values, net of costs? The business experiences they cite do not include this rare skill. Their concrete idea is to run a shuttle from S…

Letter To The Editor: Vote George Latimer Daily Voice accepts signed and original letters to the editor up to 350 words. To send a letter, e-mail ossining@dailyvoice.com. To the editor: One of the big themes in the Westchester County Executive election race is taxes. Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino keeps saying that he has never raised taxes. What he is not referring to is his alignment with the far right Republican agenda where a tax plan is being rushed through Congress that will cost Westchester county residents thousands of dollars. This tax plan will limit or sharply curtail the right to deduct state and local taxes.…

New York Times Spotlights Heated Westchester Race WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- The race for Westchester County Executive is so nasty, even the New York Times took notice. The Times took a deep dive into the nastiness of the race along with other races in the tri-state area. Astorino has denied accepting the…

Letter To The Editor: Responding To Catherine Borgia Daily Voice accepts signed and original letters to the editor up to 350 words. To send a letter, e-mail ossining@dailyvoice.com. As I stated yesterday, in a Letter to the Editor on Daily Voice, I am deeply concerned by Catherine Borgia’s professional relationship to the Hudson Institute property, a relationship she has failed to disclose to her voters – including in a lengthy letter to the Patch that she posted yesterday. To my concerns, Catherine Borgia has challenged me to “substantiate [my] most recent ‘false’ allegation, suggesting [she has] any involvement with the Hudson Institute.” A…

After two months of nasty back and forth, voters will get to choose Tuesday between Republican incumbent Rob Astorino, who is running for a third term and his challenger Senator George Latimer (D-Rye.) Astorino has touted his record of not raising the county's tax levy in the eight years he's been in office, as well as adding jobs. Latimer has criticized Astorino for mismanaging the county's finances, balancing the budget via gimmicks and one shot. Astorino said Latimer will raise taxes if elected, …

Just quoted by Tyner: "Wake up folks-- Mr. Gannon is trying to use a classic straw-man argument here-- the fact is that I never stated that the issue of Hyde Park school property taxes here in Clinton was completely solved-- just that I have worked on it". Tyner says he worked on it, not currently working on it! What has he done in the Past Few Years on this issue ? Did he stop pursuing it because he thought it was corrected and a closed issue …
