Former Coach In Hudson Valley Charged With Transporting Minors, Now Cops, To Engage In Sex Acts A former diving coach in the Hudson Valley is facing federal charges, years after he allegedly transported teenagers across state lines for sex. Victor Byrne, age 56, who formerly coached competitive divers in Rockland County, was arrested Wednesday, Aug. 31, in Orlando, Florida. Federal prosecutors said Byrne transported a 16-year-old victim from Cape Cod, Massachusetts to Rockland County to engage in illegal sexual activity in July 2006. Yonkers Teacher's Sexual Relationship With Student Turned Violent, Police Say A teacher in the region is accused of engaging in a sexual relationship with a teenage student that eventually turned violent, authorities said. Northern Westchester resident James Korwatch, age 49, of Ossining, was arrested by Yonkers Police Wednesday, Aug. 31, on violent felony charges of criminal sexual act and stalking. Teen Trio Accused Of Vandalizing Over Dozen Cars In Capital District Three teenagers are facing criminal charges after allegedly vandalizing more than dozen vehicles in the Capital District. State police in Saratoga County were called Monday, Aug. 29, with reports that 14 vehicles had been damaged in the town of Schuylerville and Victory Mills. Damage was also reported to the Village of Schuylerville Visitors Center, located in Schuyler’s Canal Park, police said. Video: 6 Tractor-Trailers Burst Into Flames At Trash Dump In Capital District Firefighters spent hours battling a large blaze that broke out at a trash dump in the region. Traffic Stop Leads To Felony Drug Charges For Capital District Man A traffic stop in the Capital District ended with a man jailed on felony drug charges, authorities said. State Police in Saratoga County stopped William Boyd, age 38, of Niskayuna, at around 9:40 a.m. Monday, Aug. 29, on I-87 in the town of Moreau.
