Widow Accused Of Killing Husband Dies Awaiting Trial, Carroll County Officials Say A 77-year-old woman accused of beating her husband dead with a cane died while awaiting trial, authorities announced. Gail D’Anthony died on May 13, 2024, while in the custody of the Maryland Department of Health, the Carroll County State’s Attorney’s Office said in a news release on Friday, May 17. DPW Worker Shot Collecting Trash In Baltimore A 42-year-old Department of Public Works worker was shot Friday, May 17 while collecting trash in Baltimore, authorities said. The worker was on the 800 block of Allendale Street when he was struck by an unidentified male who'd begun shooting around 10:50 a.m., city police said. The worker was then loaded into the DPW vehicle and taken to an area hospital where he is listed in stable condition.
