Lakewood Schools Paraprofessional, 57, Killed In Early-Morning Jackson Crash A 57-year-old paraprofessional in the Lakewood School District was killed in a Jackson crash early Tuesday, April 9, police said. Carole Stevenson pulled away from a stop sign in a 2018 Kia at the intersection of Toms River Road (Route 571) and Lakehurst Avenue, when she was struck by a 2007 Jeep just before 7 a.m., Jackson Police Chief Matthew Kunz said. Stevenson was attended to by Jackson EMS, and taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River, where she died just after 8 a.m., Kunz said. Pickup Stolen From Medical Center Plunges Into Virginia River: Cops A 42-year-old man was arrested after crashing a pickup stolen from a nearby medical center in a river Wednesday, April 10. Keith Lee Brinkley Jr. is believed to have stole a 2007 Ford work truck from Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center but lost control, sending the truck into the Ni River at Patriot Highway and Hickory Ridge Road around 7:50 a.m., the county sheriff's office said. Pedestrian, 51, Struck, Killed By Minivan In Spotsy A 51-year-old man was struck and killed Monday, April 8 in Spotsylvania, police said. James Corsa was crossing Patriot Highway in all-dark clothing when he was struck by a 2013 Dodge caravan heading south around 11:30 p.m., according to Major Troy Skebo of the county sheriff's office. The area that Corsta was struck in was not in a crosswalk area and was not very well lit. He was taken to Mary Washington Hospital where he died. Alexandria Motorcyclist, 23, Dies In Crash With Dash Bus Police have identified the victim killed in an Alexandria motorcycle crash as a 23-year-old resident. Kaden Olsen, of Alexandria, was heading east on Duke Street when he was broadsided by a DASH bus making a left turn onto North Ripley Street around 5:05 p.m.Tuesday, April 9, Alexandria police said. The bus driver was the only person on the bus at the time of the accident. No other injuries were reported and the scene was cleared by 10:40 p.m. Olsen died at the scene and charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.

Murder-suicide: Police ID Husband, Wife Found Dead In Lancaster County Home Police have identified the couple found dead in what they say was a murder-suicide in a Lancaster County home early Wednesday, April 10. Mark E. Shepherd, 71, shot his wife Diane L. Shepherd, 63, and then himself in their home on the 300 block of Sun Hill Road in Penn Township, bringing police to the scene just after 4 a.m., Northern Lancaster County Regional Police said. Marijuana Dispensary Backed By Former 'Rhonj' Star's Ex-Husband Opens In 2 NJ Towns A brand-new marijuana dispensary backed by the husband of a "Real Housewives of New Jersey" husband is now open in two locations. "The Dispensary" has opened its doors in both Somerset and is set to open in Union on Saturday, April 20. The company was founded in 2022 with a mission of providing "a space where people can experience the healing properties of cannabis while receiving exceptional service and support," its website says. Innocent Woman, 37, Killed By Wrong-Way Driver In I-695 Police Pursuit (Update) Police have identified the innocent driver killed by a wrong-way car thief during a police pursuit on I-695 earlier this week. Dimeka Thornton, 37, of Windsor Mill, was operating an Acura TSX when she was struck by a driver in a stolen car in the outer loop, on the ramp to Exit 18 to Liberty Road around 12:15 a.m. Monday, April 8, the Maryland Attorney General's Office said in a release. Two Entrapped, Five Hospitalized In Fairfax County Fire Five people were hospitalized in a Fairfax County fire on Wednesday morning, April 10, responders said. The blaze broke out on the 13900 block of Whetstone Manor Court in Clifton around 10:15 a.m., the county fire department said. Two people were trapped inside the home where heavy flames were reported. Two occupants were removed from the home and seriously injured. Three others were hospitalized, too, police said.
