Long Island Man Nabbed With Illegal Guns During Domestic Dispute, Police Say
A Long Island man was allegedly nabbed with numerous illegal guns during a domestic dispute.
The incident took place in Valley Stream around 10:45 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 18.
According to detectives, officers responded to a disturbance at a residential home. Upon arrival, officers were notified that during an argument that occurred between the Tayarik Perez-Vargas, age 42, and s woman, he grabbed a 121-gauge shotgun and racked it back, putting the victim in fear.
The shotgun was recovered Perez-Vargas, of Valley Stream, was placed under arrest without incident, police said.

Officer Accused Of Attempting To Smuggle Narcotics Into Corrections Facility In Hudson Valley
A state corrections officer has been arrested for allegedly smuggling drugs into a Hudson Valley jail.
Charlinea Ganzaroli, age 23, of Poughkeepsie, was arrested by the Dutchess County Drug Task Force, on Friday, Sept. 16, following an investigation.
The arrest was the result of an investigation into Ganzaroli, a current corrections officer, attempting to smuggle narcotics into a Hudson Valley correction institution, said Det. Sgt. Adam D. Harris, coordinator of the task force.
Police declined to name which institution and what type of drugs.

Stamford Man Found Dead Following Police Standoff After Hiding For 2 Years
A Fairfield County man wanted for two years for allegedly luring a woman from Florida to his home and then sexually assaulting her, killed himself during a standoff with US Marshals in Canada.
Simon Bester, age 42, of Stamford, died last week in a vacation home just north of Quebec, said the Stamford Police Department.
According to Stamford Police, Bester fled to Canada in 2020, after his arrest in 2019 for luring an unsuspecting woman from Florida, then sexually assaulting her, and holding her against her will.
When Bester failed to appear in court, a warrant was issued, police said.…

Man Shot, Killed At Home In Hudson Valley
A man was shot and killed during a dispute at a Hudson Valley home.
The incident took place in Rockland County around 11:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 17 in Stony Point on Mott Farm Road.
According to Lt. Greg Becker, of the Stony Point Police, Jason Colwell, age 47, of Garnerville, a hamlet of Haverstraw, was found dead from gunshot wounds.
The suspect, identified as Javier Medina Jr. age 21, of Stony Point, who lives at the home, remained at the scene and was transported to police headquarters for investigation, Becker said.

Mount Vernon Teen Dies After Being Stabbed During Dispute, Police Say
A Westchester teen has died after being stabbed in the neck during a dispute.
Armani McDonald, age 19, of Mount Vernon, was killed just before 5 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 17 in the Bronx.
According to the NYPD, police received a 911 call of an assault in progress at 2550 Briggs Ave., in the Bronx.
Upon arrival, officers found McDonald with a stab wound to the neck, NYPD said.
EMS responded and transported the aided male to Saint Barnabas Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Two knives were recovered on the scene and a person of interest was taken into custody, police added.
