She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She attended Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida.

Smoke Shop In Yonkers Ordered To Close Due To Violations A smoke shop in Westchester County has been closed down due to various violations. The Stationary & Convenient Store -- in Yonkers at 998 McLean Ave. was closed on Thursday, Sept. 8. An investigation was launched by the Yonkers police, fire, and building departments after they received complaints from local residents, said Det. Lt. Dean Politopoulos, of the Yonkers Police. The investigation found the store did not have a license to sell tobacco or a certificate of occupancy. There were also fire code violations, Politopoulos said. No word if the store will reopen.

Man Sentenced For New Rochelle Home Burglary A 23-year-old man has been sentenced for a home burglary in Westchester County. Westchester County District Attorney Miriam Rocah announced that Queens resident Kevin Rojo-Rojo, age 23, was sentenced on Wednesday, Sept. 7, to eight years in state prison for a 2021 New Rochelle home burglary. His sentence will run concurrent to a nine-year prison sentence he received in June 2022 in Nassau County Court for five residential burglaries that took place between January and April 2021. Woman Turns Herself In To Police For Violent Greenwich Store Robbery, Police Say A 24-year-old woman turned herself in to police for the alleged Fairfield County robbery in which an employee was severely injured when she was run over by the getaway car. Kristen A. McKenzie, of Metairie, Louisiana, surrendered to Greenwich Police on Friday, Sept. 9 for the robbery which took place on Saturday, June 25. According to Lt. CT Man Under Influence Flees Scene Of Crash, Police Say A Connecticut man was arrested for allegedly fleeing the scene of a crash while driving under the influence. The incident took place around 10:15 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 8 in Waterbury. According to Connecticut State Police, troopers responded to a motor vehicle accident on Route 8 northbound, south of Exit #36, in the City of Waterbury. Trio Caught Breaking Into Cars In Trumbull, Police Say Three Connecticut teenagers have been charged for allegedly breaking into vehicles in the parking lot of a Fairfield County apartment complex. The three were arrested in Trumbull on Wednesday, Sept. 7, following the incident at the Ten Trumbull Apartments. Stamford Police Captain Promoted To Assistant Chief A popular Fairfield County police captain has been promoted to assistant chief of an area police department. Capt. Richard Conklin will become the next Assistant Chief of Police for the Stamford Police Department, according to Chief Timothy Shaw. ID Released For Person Killed In Head-On Hudson Valley Crash Police have identified a person killed during a head-on crash in the Hudson Valley. Erin T. Clancy, a 50-year-old man, was killed in Dutchess County around 5:50 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 7, in Pleasant Valley, said New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks. 32-Year-Old Accused Of Assaulting Trooper After Crash In Hudson Valley A Hudson Valley man is behind bars after he allegedly attacked a New York State trooper and fought with others following his arrest for DWI. The incident took place in Orange County around 11 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 8, at 11 p.m. at the Wallkill Rest Area off I-84 in Wallkill. 29-Year-Old Threatens Victim With Machete In Region, Police Say A 29-year-old man was nabbed for attacking another person with a machete on a busy street in the region. The incident took place in Sullivan County around 9 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 4 on Main Street in the Village of Liberty. According to Liberty Police, a dispatcher monitoring the department's Main Street surveillance cameras spotted what appeared to be two people involved in a fight.
