57-Year-Old Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash On CT Roadway A 57-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on a Connecticut roadway. The crash took place in Hartford County around 11:45 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 20 in Bristol on Redstone Hill Road. Officers responded to the area for a reported motorcycle crash, said Lt. Patrick Krajewski, of the Bristol Police. Upon arrival, officers located the man in the roadway, who was later pronounced dead, Krajewski said. Police have not released the name of the victim. CT High School Student Killed In Crash A 15-year-old Connecticut high school student who was a police cadet was struck and killed while riding his bike. The crash happened around 3 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 20 in Hartford County, in the parking lot of a Mobile gas station in Berlin, at 2005 Berlin Turnpike. Police responded to the gas station for a report of a car striking a bicycle, said Berlin Chief of Police Matthew McNally. Outage Knocks Out Power To Thousands In Nassau County The workweek started in the dark for around 3,000 Long Islanders due to a power outage in Nassau County. The outage happened in East Massapequa around 7:30 a.m., Monday, Aug. 22, causing outages and some traffic difficulties with down traffic signals. According to PSEG officials, the majority of customers have had power restored with the rest expected by around 9:30 a.m. Monday. As of 8:55 a.m. PSEG was reporting some 660 customers still without power.  The company is investigating what caused the outage, said Elizabeth Flagler, PSEG spokeswoman.
