She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She attended Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida.

One Killed In Palisades Parkway Crash A Hudson Valley man was killed during a two-car head-on crash on the Palisades Parkway. The crash took place in Orange County in the town of Highlands around 4:45 a.m., Thursday, June 16. A preliminary investigation revealed that a 1998 Toyota Corolla, driven by Hugo Vasquez, age 67 from Spring Valley was traveling southbound in the northbound lane when he struck a 2006 Toyota TC head-on, said Trooper Steven Nevel. Man Shot, Killed In Front Of His Long Island Home Police are asking the public for assistance after a man was shot and killed standing in front of his Long Island home. The incident took place in North Bellport around 1:45 p.m., Wednesday, June 15. The male driver of a vehicle shot Lee Houpe who was standing outside of his home, located at 615 Post Ave., said the Suffolk County Police. The driver fled in an unknown direction. Houpe, age 28, was transported to Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue where he was pronounced dead. Jumper Update: Man Parked Car Below Hudson Valley Bridge, Walked Up, Climbed Span, Police Say A man who survived a jump from a Hudson Valley bridge had parked his car below the bridge and walked up the bridge before climbing on a span and jumping. CT Driver Dies After Crashing Into Side Of Restaurant, Police Say A 22-year-old Connecticut man was killed after crashing into the side of a restaurant. The incident took place in New Haven around 6:15 p.m., on Tuesday, June 14. Responding police officers located a Toyota Highlander that had crashed into the side of Scarpellino’s restaurant on Forbes Avenue, said Officer Scott Shumway, of the New Haven Police. Long Island Man Arrested In Connection With OD Death, Police Say A Long Island man has been charged in connection with the overdose death of a 54-year-old man. Raymond Sanabria, age 43, of Elmhurst, was arrested on Tuesday, June 14 in North Lawrence. Sanabria was developed as a suspect following an investigation by Nassau County police detectives into the death of a Valley Stream man that occurred on Tuesday. Man Jumps From Bridge In Hudson Valley, Police Say A man who jumped from a Hudson Valley bridge survived the fall, police said. The incident took place in Orange County in the town of Newburgh around 9 a.m., Wednesday, June 15. The man who jumped from the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge was rescued by a police officer on a jet ski, said Trooper Steven Nevel with the New York State Police. Few details are available at this time. Northampton Man Killed In House Fire A man was found dead following a house fire on Long Island. The blaze broke out in Northampton around 12:40 a.m., Tuesday, June 14 on Wildwood Trail. Responders arrived within minutes and were unable to breech the door as the home was fully engulfed in flames, said Lt. Susan Ralph, of the Southampton Police. Hudson Valley Man Charged With Hate Crime Following Road Rage Incident, Police Say This story has been updated. A Hudson Valley man was charged with menacing as a hate crime stemming from a road rage incident. Orange County resident William J. Ryan, age 60, of the town of Newburgh, was arrested on Tuesday, June 14, for the incident that took place on Saturday, June 11.
