Two New Target Stores Coming To Westchester, Including Port Chester Two new Target locations are preparing to open their doors to customers in Westchester. They will be in Port Chester and Yonkers. The Port Chester store, which will be a draw both New York and Connecticut residents, is planning an 89,000-square-foot location in the Gateway Shopping Plaza at 495 Post Road which is already home to Whole Foods and Old Navy, according to store officials. CT Man Nabbed For Robbery Of Walmart, Threatening Employees With Box Cutter A Connecticut man was charged with larceny and robbery after allegedly stealing some $200 worth of merchandise from a store and then threatening an employee with a box cutter. New Haven County resident Samuel Brown, age 46, of New Haven, was arrested on Tuesday, Feb. 22 in Milford. According to the Milford Police, officers responded to the Walmart at 1365 Boston Post Road on a report of a robbery. An investigation led to the arrest of Brown who is accused of stealing more than $200 worth merchandise and pulling out a box cutter when store employees attempted to confront him, police said. …

Deadly CT Daytime Shooting Under Investigation A Connecticut man fatally shot in broad daylight crashed his vehicle into a home before dying at a hospital. The shooting took place around 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 2 on Garden Street in Hartford. Ryan McKain, age 33, of Hartford, was found when officers responded to the area of 652 Garden St. on a ShotSpotter activation, said Lt. Aaron Boisvert, of the Hartford Police Department. Fdny Firefighter From West Islip Dies Of 9-11 Related Illnesses A New York City firefighter from Long Island who rushed to the World Trade Center during the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks died from 9-11-related cancer at the age of 61. Frederick "Freddy" Gallagher, of West Islip, died on Tuesday, March 1, according to the FDNY. Gallagher, who was diagnosed with cancer two-and-half years ago, served as an FDNY firefighter for 28 years. Stratford School Bus Driver Faces DUI Charge After Crash A Fairfield County school bus driver has been charged with putting 26 middle school students at risk when he crashed into a FedEx van. Harold Bollings, age 64, of Stratford, was arrested on Tuesday, March 1, on a warrant for the incident which took place on Wednesday, Jan. 12 in Stratford. Retired Norwalk Police Officer Dies At Age 70 A longtime police officer in Fairfield County has died at the age of 70. Retired Norwalk Police Officer John Buchholz, of Broome County, in Endicott, New York, died on Thursday, Feb. 24, said Norwalk Police Department Chief Kulhawik. Buchholz joined the Norwalk Police Department in August 1975 and served for 21 years until his retirement in Nov. 1996. 29-Year-Old Found Shot Dead In Yonkers, Police Say Police are investigating the shooting death of a 29-year-old man in what may have been a targeted killing in Westchester County.
