Springfield City Hall Evacuated After Suspicious Container Found A Western Massachusetts city hall has been evacuated after a suspicious contained was found near its entrance. The container was found around 10:15 a.m., Monday, Feb. 14, near the entrance to the Springfield City Hall. According to Ryan Walsh, spokesman for the Springfield Police the building was evacuated as a precaution.   The Arson and Bomb Squad is investigating. This is a developing story. Hudson Valley Man Sentenced To Prison For Selling Guns To Undercover Agent A Hudson Valley man has been sentenced to serve years in state prison and five years post-release supervision for possessing guns sold to an undercover officer. Orange County resident Daniel Cabral, age 34, of Sparrowbush, was sentenced on Thursday, Feb. 10, for illegally selling three handguns in the Town of Deerpark in July 2021, said the Orange County District Attorney's Office. In December, Cabral pleaded guilty to criminal possession of a weapon, the DA's Office said. Juvenile Arrested For Breaking Into Occupied Home In Fairfield County, Police Say A Fairfield County juvenile was charged after allegedly breaking into a home and struggling with the homeowners. The incident took place around 3 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 13, when Stamford Police received a call of people struggling with a person who had entered their home in the area of Liberty Street. According to Sgt. Man Killed After House Fire Breaks Out In Area, Police Say A Hudson Valley man was found dead inside a home following a residential structure fire. Orange County resident Roger A. Smith, age 60 of New Windsor was found around 7:30 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 13, following a house fire in New Windsor, officials said. According to New Windsor Police Chief Robert Doss, the fire started around 7 p.m. at 17 Shaw Road. When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found the home fully engulfed in flames and smoke, Doss said. Area Teens, Two Adults Nabbed In Stolen Vehicle With Guns, Police Say Numerous Hudson Valley teens and two adults were nabbed in a stolen vehicle with guns after running from police. The incident took place around 5:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 10 in Dutchess County when the City of Poughkeepsie Police spotted a stolen vehicle in a parking lot.
