Thousands in the Hudson Valley lost power overnight as thunderstorms brought down trees and power lines weeks after Tropical Storm Isaias rocked the region.
As of around 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 28, NYSEG was still reporting 67 customers without power in Dutchess County, 343 in Sullivan County, and 15 in Ulster County.
Central Hudson had 442 Dutchess customers without power, and an additional three in Ulster County, while Orange & Rockland Utilities had 639 of its 9,093 customers in Sullivan County still without power.

Tropical Storm Isaias: Thousands Lose Power In Putnam
Tens of thousands of Putnam, Dutchess, and Ulster residents have lost power as Tropical Storm Isaias rocked the region with extreme wind gusts that toppled trees, felled utility poles and downed power lines throughout the area.
Putnam County was hardest hit, with 33,464 of NYSEG’s 38,693 customers reporting outages, with Carmel (11,654), Southeast (5,966), Putnam Valley (4,894), and Patterson (4,460) seeing the most outages.
Central Hudson was responding to 606 total outages that were impacting 63,821 of their customers as of 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4.

Covid-19: Here's Latest Update On Number Of Dutchess County Deaths, Cases
Dutchess County continues to experience new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, but the number of new daily infections has lowered since the outbreak began in early March.
As of early Monday, May 11, state Department of Health officials said since the beginning of the pandemic there are 3,359 cases of COVID-19, with 40 new cases reported on Sunday, May 10.
Currently, there are 2,200 active cases, with 56 people hospitalized, Dutchess County Department of Health information reveals.
There have been 101 COVID-19 deaths reported in Dutchess and 998 people have recovered.

Thousands are without power on Long Island as storms rolled through the region, bringing whipping winds of more than 70 mph that toppled tree limbs and downed power lines.
As of 1 p.m. on Monday, April 13, Central Hudson was reporting that 17,493 of its 120,208 customers were without power, while 2,580 of its 5,151 customers were reporting outages.
NYSEG was reporting 13,619 of its Putnam customers were without power, while 868 in Dutchess were left in the dark.
