911 Dispatcher Suspended After Hanging Up On Store Employee During Buffalo Shooting A 911 dispatcher could lose their job after reportedly hanging up on a store employee who called for help during the mass shooting in Buffalo. An Erie County spokesperson told Daily Voice the dispatcher has been placed on administrative leave and a disciplinary hearing has been scheduled. “Termination from employment is a possible outcome,” said spokesperson Daniel Meyer. Man, Woman Accused Of Trying To Use Credit Card Stolen At Commack Whole Foods Police on Long Island are looking for a duo accused of stealing a woman’s wallet and then attempting to use her credit cards. The man and woman nabbed the wallet from a shopping cart at Whole Foods in Commack Monday, March 14, according to Suffolk County Police. Not long after, they tried using credit cards found in the wallet to make purchases at a Best Buy in East Northport, police said. 25-Year-Old Hudson Valley Man Killed In Crash Remembered For 'Kind Heart' Family and friends are mourning a young Hudson Valley native who died this month in a car crash. Keith Jornov, age 25, from Ulster County, was killed Tuesday, May 10, in Herkimer County when his car was struck by a box truck on State Route 5S near Washington Street in German Flatts, according to New York State Police. Investigators said Jornov was hit after failing to stop at a stop sign. The impact sent his car off the roadway and knocked the box truck onto its passenger side, police said. Construction Worker Barred From Capital District High School Over Confederate Flag A construction worker has been barred from a Capital District school after twice showing up to campus in a vehicle donning a Confederate flag. Madison Weeks, age 15, of Cayuga in Cayuga County, was last seen at around 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, as she left her home to play basketball, according to New York State Police. Wrong-Way Driver Fleeing Troopers Hits Three Cars In Hudson Valley, Police Say A Hudson Valley man was imparied by drugs when he tried to outrun state troopers and struck three other vehicles, according to New York State Police. Video: Police Rescue Baby Goslings From Long Island Storm Drain Two young geese have some Nassau County Police officers to thank after being rescued from a storm drain. Groundbreaking CBS6 Reporter Ken Screven Dies Longtime CBS6-WRGB reporter Ken Screven has died, the station reports. The first Black man to work as a reporter for a Capital District television station, Screven, who was 72, joined the CBS6 team in 1977. “As a Black man on TV in Albany in the early 70's, Ken was a trailblazer with a conscience.
