A 33-year-old man who broke into an Arlington hotel room was arrested after police found him with drugs, authorities said. Deonte Lewis, of no fixed address, and another person broke into a hotel room on the 2400 block of S. Glebe Road just before 8:40 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, the sheriff's office said. The two fled after an employee spotted them, prompting a wide-scale search. Love-Themed Poconos Motel Famous For Romantic Getaways Closes After 50 Years
The Land of Love is letting go. After nearly 50 years, Pocono Palace Resort — a popular love-themed getaway in the Poconos — has closed its doors. The East Stroudsburg motel, which reportedly opened in 1976, was sold, with the transition of title set for Thursday, May 2, according to a statement on its website: "We understand that this news may be disappointing, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause." Body Of Missing Kayaker Recovered Along Schuylkill River
The body of a 70-year-old kayaker who'd gone missing earlier in the week during a fishing trip along the Schuylkill River earlier this week has been recovered, authorities said. A 32-year-old man has been arrested for shooting a person he'd met in a rideshare vehicle in Fairfax County, police said. Yusef Roy, of Lorton, and the passenger were picked up at difference places but were dropped off at the same final destination near the 9200 block of Ashland Woods on March 1, Fairfax County police said. A 15-year-old boy is accused of getting on another school's bus and flashing a gun in his waistband, police in Prince William County said.
