Separate Coyote Attacks On Dogs Reported In CT Two dogs were attacked and injured by coyotes in separate attacks in Connecticut. The Hartford County incidents took place in Burlington around dusk on Sunday, Oct. 2 in the Johnnycake Mountain Road area. According to Burlington Police Animal Control Officer Katie Meskun, the first dog was attacked by two coyotes when he was let outside of his home. The second attack took place close by when, again, a dog was let outside and attacked by a single coyote, Meskun said. Norwalk Police Investigating Assault At Youth Football Game Police in Fairfield County are seeking information and videos of an alleged assault at a youth football game. The incident took place in Norwalk at 1 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 2 at the Brien McMahon High School field during a game. According to Sgt. Sofia Gulino, of the Norwalk Police, the assault took place on the field during the game. The assault reportedly involved a coach being attacked by a parent, according to published reports. Man Killed After Car Crashes Into Tree In Western Mass, Police Say A man died after crashing his car into a tree in Western Massachusetts. The crash took place in Hampden County around 1;20 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 1 in Springfield in the 700 block of Berkshire Avenue. According to Ryan Walsh, a spokesman for the Springfield Police, officers who responded to the area found a single-car crash into a tree. The lone occupant, an adult male, was transported to Baystate Hospital where he died from his injuries, Walsh said. The department's Traffic Unit is investigating.

Local Man Charged After Shot Fired At Popular Pizzeria In Hudson Valley A local man has been charged in connection to a shot-fired incident at a Hudson Valley restaurant. The Dutchess County incident took place in the town of Fishkill at Antonella's Pizza around 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 2. Suspect On Run After Long Island Bank Robbery Police on Long Island are searching for a man who allegedly robbed a TD bank by passing a note to a teller. The incident took place in East Meadow around 1:50 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 2 at the TD Bank at 2549 Hempstead Turnpike. According to detectives, an unknown man entered the bank and approached a teller, and handed her a note demanding money. The teller complied and the subject fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of proceeds, police said. 23-Year-Old Dies After Jumping From Bridge In Hudson Valley A 23-year-old man was killed after driving onto a Hudson Valley bridge, exiting his vehicle, and jumping, according to authorities. The incident took place around 9:30 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 2 at the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge in the town of Newburgh. Accused CT Bank Robber Nabbed After Chase, Crash, Police Say A Connecticut man is behind bars after allegedly holding up a victim at a Webster Bank ATM at gunpoint. The incident took place in Bristol around 11:20 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 2, at the bank located at 575 Farmington Ave. According to Lt. Craig O'Connor of the Bristol Police, William Walker, age 31, of Hartford, held the victim at gunpoint and then fled in a dark-colored Honda. Verizon Landline Phone Outage Reported Across Several Hudson Valley Counties Several police and fire departments in the area are reporting phone outages for those with Verizon landlines. The outages began on Sunday, Oct. 2 in Dutchess, Orange, and Ulster counties and affected police and fire department seven-digit numbers. The outage continued Monday, Oct. 3. Teen Found Shot To Death Following Long Island Car Crash, Police Say Detectives on Long Island are investigating the shooting death of a teen who was involved in a car crash. The incident took place in Central Islip around 12:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 1. According to Suffolk County detectives, Carlos Guillen was driving an Acura eastbound on Francisco Avenue when he struck a parked trailer and fence at the intersection of Lurcott Lane.
