Suspect On Loose After Broad-Daylight Shooting During Dispute In Yonkers A suspect is on the run after allegedly shooting another man during a dispute in Westchester. The incident occurred around 12:45 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 1 in Yonkers, in the area of Mill Street. According to Yonkers PD Det. Lt. Dean Politopoulos, two men were engaged in an apparent dispute when the suspect fired several shots at the victim, striking him two times in the upper body. Woman Hit In Head With Hammer Near Yonkers ShopRite A woman is recovering after being hit in the head with a hammer by another woman in Westchester. The incident took place in Yonkers around 4:20 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 1, near the ShopRite at 25 Prospect Street. According to Yonkers PD Det. Lt. Dean Politopoulos, a woman approached another woman from behind and struck her in the head with a ball-peen hammer. The suspect was taken into custody and the victim was transported to a local area hospital with a head laceration and is expected to recover, Politopoulos said. The suspect has not yet been named. Hudson Valley Man Sentenced For Sexually Abusing Child A Hudson Valley man was sentenced to prison for sexually abusing an area girl for sexual years beginning when she was 7 years old. Rockland County resident Sherman Brody, age 46, of Haverstraw, was sentenced on Thursday, Sept. 1, to 14 years in state prison, said Rockland County District Attorney Thomas Walsh II. Brody was also sentenced to 10 years post-release supervision after pleading guilty to one count of course of sexual conduct against a child, the DA said. Man Seriously Injured In Stabbing Sparked By Incident Near Centereach Shell Station, Police Say A Long Island man was stabbed 11 times after he confronted a jogger who yelled at him as he pulled into a gas station. The incident occurred in Centereach at 8:10 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 1 near the Shell Gas located on Middle Country Road. The blaze broke out in Middlesex County around 4:30 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 1 on Pine. St., in Middletown. 20-Year-Old Woman Airlifted After I-84 Pileup Crash One person was injured and airlifted following a three-vehicle crash on I-84 in Connecticut. The crash took place in West Hartford around 7:20 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 1 on I-84 eastbound. According to state police, the crash occurred when Litchfield County resident Amanda Maud, age 20, of Winsted, driving a Ford Fiesta, plowed into the back of a Hyduani Tuscon which was slowing down for congested traffic.
