Widow Of Firefighter From NY Killed By Falling Tree Limb Files Lawsuit
The widow of a decorated Long Island FDNY firefighter killed by a falling tree limb has filed a lawsuit against the hotel where the incident took place.
Casey Skudin, age 45, of Long Beach, was killed in Asheville, North Carolina on Friday, June 17, as he was driving along the entrance to the Biltmore Estate and a rotten tree limb fell on the family's vehicle.
Skudin was on a family vacation to celebrate his birthday and Father's Day when the 2,000-pound tree limb fell on the vehicle, the lawsuit says.

I-684 Reopens Following Crash Injuring 3 In Katonah
Three people were injured, including one person who was ejected, when a tractor-trailer flipped on a packed highway.
The incident took place in Northern Westchester around 8 a.m., Wednesday, July 20 on northbound I-684 in Katonah.
The crash closed the roadway for several hours, but it has since reopened, said New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks.
Information regarding the crash, including the condition of those injured, and the number of vehicles involved, was not immediately available, Hicks said.

Man Drowns At Long Island Beach After Being Caught In Rip Tide, Police Say
A Long Island man drowned minutes after entering the water at a popular beach after being caught in rough conditions and a rip current.
Benjamin Kitburi, age 31, died at Ditch Plains Beach in Montauk, around 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 19.
When officers arrived on the scene for a 911 call of a swimmer in distress, they found Kitburi, a resident of Montauk, had entered the surf minutes earlier with two others to take a swim, said Capt. Christopher Anderson, of the East Hampton Police.

ID Released For 'Law & Order' Crew Member Shot, Killed In NYC
A 31-year-old man crew member of "Law & Order: Organized Crime," who was shot and killed has been identified by police.
Johnny Pizarro, age 31, of Queens, was shot in New York City in Greenpoint around 5:15 a.m., Tuesday, July 19, according to the NYPD.
Pizarro was sitting in a red Honda Civic, saving a parking spot, when another man opened the driver’s door and shot him, officials said.
Arriving officers found Pizarro unconscious and unresponsive. The crewman was hit in the head and neck, NYPD said.
