She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Man Nabbed For Threatening To 'Shoot Up' Mamaroneck Business, Police Say Customers were running from a Westchester business after a man allegedly pulled out a knife and began saying he would "shoot up the place." The incident took place in the village of Mamaroneck around 3 p.m. on Monday, May 30. 15-Year-Old Charged After Threatening 'To Shoot Up' Long Island High School, Police Say A Long Island boy has been charged with making a terroristic threat after allegedly threatening to "shoot up" a local high school. The incident took place in Riverhead around 1 p.m., Wednesday, June 1 at Riverhead High School located at 700 Harrison Ave. The 15-year-old made the threat when police were on campus for an unrelated incident when he yelled into a classroom "I'm gonna shoot up the school," said the Riverhead Police. Two Charged With Stealing From Long Island Home Depot, Police Say Two Long Island men were charged with larceny after reportedly stealing items from a Long Island Home Depot store. The incident took place in Riverhead around 1:40 p.m., Tuesday, May 24, at the Home Depot located at 1550 Old Country Road. Upon the arrival of the first responding patrol unit, a description was given of a vehicle and two suspects that removed items without paying for them, the Riverhead Police said. Suspect Identified After Bank Robbery In Cos Cob Police have released the identity of a Fairfield County man who allegedly robbed an area bank last month. An arrest warrant was issued by Greenwich Police on Tuesday, May 31, for Joseph C. Heffner, 42, of Greenwich, in connection with the robbery of the M&T Bank on the Post Road in Cos Cob. Fire Chief, Highway Super In Region Charged With Sex Crimes Against Child, Police Say A fire chief and town highway superintendent in the region has been arrested for alleged sex crimes against a child. Sullivan County resident Robert Hufcut, age 55, of Wurtsboro, was arrested on Tuesday, May 31, for several sex crimes following a months-long investigation. College Lacrosse Player From NY Dies At Age 19 A talented Long Island lacrosse player at the University of Massachusetts Amherst has died suddenly at his family's home. Aidan Kaminska, age 19, died on Monday, May 30, at his family's home in Port Jefferson, according to UMass officials. A Port Jefferson High School alumni, Kaminska was a football and lacrosse star at the school where he set a high school record for the number of receptions during a football game on Long Island at 17. Large CT Beach Brawl Leads To Officers Being Assaulted, Police Say Police had to shut down a public beach after extremely large crowds of some 500 people became unruly and numerous fights broke out in which officers were allegedly attacked in Connecticut. Two Women Killed, Man Seriously Injured In Wrong-Way, Head-On CT Crash State Police are seeking witnesses to a fatal wrong-way driver crash that killed two Connecticut women and seriously injured a man. The crash took place on Route 82 in the Middlesex County town of Haddam on Tuesday, May 31, said the Connecticut State Police.
