Mother Dies After Falling Off Train Platform In Stamford A 34-year-old Fairfield County mother died days after she and her infant fell off a train platform. The incident took place around 1:20 p.m., Monday, April 25 at the Stamford Train Station. James Gill, the state’s chief medical examiner, confirmed Monday, May 2, that Jessica Perez died over the weekend, just days after she and her 10-month-old son were injured when the two fell from a platform. Speed A Factor In Fatal Western Mass Crash, Police Say A single-vehicle crash killed a driver who lost control of his vehicle, according to police. The crash took place in Hampden County in West Springfield around 10:45 p.m., Saturday, April 23 on Route 5. The driver lost control of the motorcycle on Route 5 between the Memorial and North End bridges, said Sgt. Joseph LaFrance, of the West Springfield Police. Sommer Hinds, of Bridgeport, was reported missing on Saturday, April 30, after she failed to return home on Friday, April, 29. Child Hurt When Woman Drives Through Fence, Hits Swing Set In Stamford An 11-year-old boy was injured when he was hit by a car while swinging at a Fairfield County Boys and Girls Club. Woman From Region Accused Of Attempting To Bring Contraband Into Prison A woman from the region was arrested for allegedly attempting to smuggle drugs into a prison. The arrest took place in Washington County in the town of Comstock on Saturday, April 23.
