One Killed In Single-Vehicle Western Mass Crash One person was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Western Massachusetts. The unidentified person was killed in West Springfield around 10:45 p.m., Saturday, April 23. According to the West Springfield Police, a person on a motorcycle was located on northbound Route 5 between the Memorial and North End Bridges, said the West Springfield Police. Man Charged For Sexually Abusing Child In Region A man from the region has been charged with the sexual abuse of a child under the age of 11 after police received a tip. Patrick Williams-Batchelder, age 22, of Rensselaer, was arrested in Columbia County on Friday, April 15 for first-degree sexual abuse. According to New York State Police, law enforcement received a tip of the sexual abuse involving Williams-Batchelder, said Trooper AJ Hicks. The turtles were found when officials with the state Department of Environmental Conservation discovered an online ad offering painted turtles for sale in Nassau County in Hempstead.
