She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Silver Alert Issued For Missing Norwalk 14-Year-Old Girl A Silver Alert has been issued for a 14-year-old Fairfield County girl. Fatima Aguirre, of Norwalk, was last seen at noon, Tuesday, March 29, said Lt. Joe Dinho, of the Norwalk Police. It is unknown what she was wearing, police said. Pediatric Doctor From Hudson Valley Nabbed For Sex Abuse A Hudson Valley pediatric doctor has been charged in connection with alleged sexual abuse of children. Dutchess County resident Ibrahim Rabadi, age 63, of Red Hook, was arraigned on Tuesday, March 29 on a sealed indictment. The investigation into Rabadi, who practices in Columbia County in Hudson, and in Greene County in Catskill, began after two female victims reported separate incidents to police, said Hudson Police Chief Edward Moore. Talking Heads Drummer Hit By Drunk Driver Near Fairfield-Bridgeport Border A famous drummer and rocker from the Talking Heads and his wife barely escaped being killed when they were hit by a wrong-way drunk driver in Fairfield County. Chris Franz, age 70, and his wife Tina Weymouth, age 71, both of New York City, took to Facebook to describe the crash on Route 1 (Post Road) near the border of the Town of Fairfield and Bridgeport. Duo Accused Of Stealing Purses From Shopping Carts In Hudson Valley Police in the region are asking the public for help identifying a couple of thieves who have allegedly been snagging purses and wallets from shopping carts. The Town of Ulster Police Department is investigating several larcenies of purses and wallets from shopping carts in the Kings Mall over the last two weeks. While one of the suspects distracts the female shopper the other one steals the purse, police said. 23-Year-Old Woman Sentenced For Death Of Newborn In Hudson Valley A Hudson Valley woman has been sentenced in connection with the death of her newborn found thrown in a vacant lot. Orange County resident Nicole H. Layman, age 23, of Port Jervis, was sentenced to four to 15 years in prison on Monday, March 28 for the incident which took place in November 2019. Fire Causes Extensive Damage To Westport Home A fire caused extensive damage to a Fairfield County home as temperatures dipped into the 20s. The fire took place around 5 p.m., Monday, March 28, at 24 Red Coat Road in Westport. Two Children Rescued After Fugitives Apprehended In Connecticut Two toddlers were rescued and a couple was arrested after US Marshals tracked the pair to Connecticut. Man Sentenced For Fatally Stabbing Shopper At Supermarket In Hudson Valley A Hudson Valley man has been sentenced to 20 years to life in prison for stabbing a random man who was shopping to death at a ShopRite supermarket in 2016. Orange County resident Andrew Goodenough, age 41, of New Windsor, was sentenced on Monday, March 28 after pleading guilty to second-degree murder in February.
