Fire Damages New Construction At Hospital In Manhasset, Police Say A new surgical wing under construction at a Long Island hospital caught fire overnight causing significant damage. The fire started in Nassau County around 1 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, at the  addition to North Shore Manhasset Hospital adjacent to the hospital in Manhasset. According to the Nassau County Police, arriving police and firefighters found an active fire in the new construction zone. Hudson Valley Man Charged With Murder Of 28-Year-Old, Police Say Police have arrested a local man for a homicide that took place more than two years ago in the Hudson Valley.  Rockland County resident Jack Ramirez, age 20, of Spring Valley, was arrested on Wednesday, Feb. 16, in connection with the killing of a 28-year-old area man. According to the Spring Valley Police, Ramirez was nabbed following a two-year investigation into the killing on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020, of Juvenson Paul who was found shot dead in a car. It happened around 5 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 15 in the area of 47 Sugar Hollow Road in Danbury. According to Det. Lt. Mark Willams, of the Danbury Police, a preliminary investigation shows that a 2019 Nissan Rogue traveling southbound crossed over the double yellow line into oncoming traffic. Officers Rescue Two CT Women From Burning House, Police Say Two Connecticut women were rescued from their burning home as flames surrounded them. The fire took place around 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 15, in New Haven County at a home on Spring Street in Ansonia. The Suffolk County Police homicide squad and MTA Police Department are investigating the fatal shooting of Yusef Staine, age 20, of West Babylon, at the Ronkonkoma train station around 1:45 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 16.
