Long Island Man Admits To Brutal Sexual Assault A Long Island man faces 16 years in prison after pleading guilty to a brutal sexual assault that seriously injured a woman. Edward Bell, age 40, of Bellport, pleaded guilty on Friday, Jan. 21, to felony first-degree aggravated sexual abuse in connection with the sexual assault of a woman found in North Bellport in June 2019, according to Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney. Horse Barn Fire Breaks Out In Fairfield County No horses were injured when a two-alarm horse barn fire broke out on the land of a private residence in Fairfield County. The blaze broke out around 5 a.m., Monday, Jan. 24, in New Canaan, on Silvermine Road. The New York State Police arrested two Sullivan County men, Jack Carter, age 21, and Nick Carter, age 26, both of Glen Spey, on Wednesday, Jan. 19, for the murder of a missing area man. Man Struck, Killed By Vehicle On Busy CT Roadway, Police Say A man was killed after being hit by a Toyota Avalon along a busy Connecticut roadway.
