Woman Seriously Injured After Suffolk County House Fire Breaks Out Police on Long Island are investigating after a fire seriously injured a woman. The blaze broke out around 5:30 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 20, at a home on Manhasset Trail in Ridge, said the Suffolk County Police. One woman, who lives at the home, was transported by the Ridge Fire Department to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, police said. Another resident in the home was not injured.  The cause of the fire is under investigation but appears to be non-criminal, police said.

4-Month-Old Boy Found Dead At Area Home, Police Say Police are investigating after a 4-month boy was found dead at a home in the Hudson Valley. The incident took place in Rockland County in Monsey on Wednesday, Jan. 19, according to Det. Sgt. Michael Higgins, of the Ramapo Police.  When police responded they found the child unresponsive, Higgins said. "There were no signs of foul play or trauma," Higgins said.  Investigators are waiting for a cause of death from the medical examiner's office, but believe it may be medical.  An investigation is underway.  This is a developing story. A Dozen Displaced, Two Dogs Rescued After Hampden County House Fire A fire at a Western Massachusetts four-family unit home left 12 people and two dogs homeless. The fire broke out in Hampden County around 8 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 19, on Union Avenue in Westfield, said Deputy Chief Andrew Hart of the Westfield Fire Department. The fire started in one unit which received the most damage, but the other three units received smoke and water damage, Hart said. Two dogs were rescued by firefighters during the incident. No one was injured during the incident, Hart said. The Red Cross was called to offer assistance to the families and animals.

Woman Killed After Being Struck By Car At CT Intersection Police are searching for witnesses after a woman was struck and killed by a vehicle at a Connecticut intersection.
