29-Year-Old Killed In Single-Vehicle Suffolk County Crash A 29-year-old man was killed after losing control of his SUV and crashing on Long Island, according to authorities. The victim, identified as Akeem Brothers, was killed around 7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 18, in Shirley, said the Suffolk County Police. CT Teacher Accused Of Leaving Children Home Alone While She Traveled Out Of State A Connecticut school teacher has been arrested for allegedly leaving two children home alone while she traveled out of the state. Litchfield County resident Kerry Lyn Caviasca, age 36, of Watertown, was arrested on Saturday, Jan. 15, for leaving two children alone for two days and nights, said Detective Mark Conway, of the Watertown Police. According to Conway, the children are ages 9 and 11. She was charged with the risk of injury to a minor and released on a $5,000 bond. 26-Year-Old Charged With Murder After Stabbing At Area Residence A Hudson Valley man has been charged with murder after allegedly stabbing another man to death. Dutchess County resident David A. Trotta Jr., age 26, of Amenia, was arrested on Sunday, Jan. 16, and charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
