An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Baisley Wins Re-Election As Poughkeepsie Supervisor POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Jon Jay Baisley has earned another term as Town of Poughkeepsie Supervisor. Baisley's opponent, Democrat Michael Treybich withdrew his petition and conceded to Baisley after results were too close to call on Election Night.  Pending absentee ballots, Baisley, who was running for a second term, led by 37 votes.  The results are expected to be certified Thursday afternoon.

Number Of Homeless Increasing In Hudson Valley The number of homeless people in the Hudson Valley is on the rise. According to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, homelessness increased by 6.7 percent over the past year. The statistics are based on a single night survey submitted by HUD in its Annual Homeless Assessment Report to Congress. Total homelessness in Rockland County increased by 20.6 percent. Total homelessness in Westchester increased by 4.68 percent and in Dutchess, total homelessness increased by .8 percent. ”
