On Election Day, Ragazzo, a Democrat, defeated longtime incumbent Gerry Klein to become the new Town Justice of Cortlandt, 56 percent to 44 percent. The town is exploring applying for a $100,000 Clean Energy Community Grant and/or obtaining a $90,000 rebate from New York State Energy Research and Development Agency toward buying an 18 - to 22-seat passenger shuttle bus or trolley, according to The Examiner. Yorktown Man Violates Probation, Police Say A Yorktown man is behind bars after he was picked up for violating his probation. Robert Reichert, 24, surrendered to police on Tuesday after a bench warrant was issued. Police did not know what Reichert did to violate his probation. In 2015, Reichert was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs after being pulled over on the Taconic State Parkway. Reichert was unable to post bail, which was set at $1,000 cash or $1,500 bond. He was turned over to the Westchester County Department of Corrections and is due back in court on Nov. 30.

Dutchess County Supreme Court blocked an effort by the village to disband its police force and replace it with the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office, saying the village did not conduct an environmental review. The Buffalo Wild Wings at 44 Westchester Ave. in the village recently closed its doors. The wing chain did not give a reason for its closure, directing customers to nearby locations in White Plains and New Rochelle. Applebees and Panera Bread have also shut its doors in Port Chester over the last few years. Wing lovers can go down the street to Wing Stop, which opened last year. The village board approved 5-2, a payment plan that will see the agency pay the village $20,575. The rest of the balance will be paid back $338 a month over the next 60 years.
