Man Sentenced For Violent Assault Of Girlfriend In Area An area man has been sentenced to three consecutive sentences of 1 1/3 to 4 years in state prison for violently assaulting a former girlfriend. Ulster County resident Jason Hinchey, age, 49 of Saugerties, was sentenced on Friday, March 11, for the March 2019 attack, said the Ulster County District Attorney's Office. Hinchey was convicted of three counts of felony aggravated family offense and one count of felony bail jumping following a jury trial in January. Police Search For Suspects After Safe Stolen From Restaurant In Shelton Police are asking the public for help identifying a van and a suspect connected with the theft of a safe from a Fairfield County restaurant. Bridgeport Woman Hit, Dragged 200 Feet By Hit-Run Driver, Police Say A Fairfield County woman was killed after she was hit and dragged by a car for nearly 200 feet before the vehicle fled the scene. Kemesha Robert Johnson, age 40, died around 3 a.m. Sunday, March 13, in Bridgeport near the intersection of Boston Avenue and Remington Street, authorities said. West Point Cadets Remain On Ventilators After Consuming Fentanyl-Laced Cocaine On Spring Break Two West Point cadets remain on ventilators after overdosing on a drug containing fentanyl during a spring break trip to Florida. In all, six college students were hospitalized after being found inside a vacation rental home in Wilton Manors, Florida, just north of Fort Lauderdale, on Thursday, March 10, the Wilton Manors Police said. Yonkers Man Charged With Hate Crimes After Attacking Woman, Police Say A man has been arrested on charges of committing a hate crime and attempted murder after allegedly pushing down and brutally attacking an Asian woman in Westchester. Tammel Esco, age 42, of Yonkers, was arrested on Friday, March 11 after Yonkers Police responded to an apartment complex for a report of a woman bleeding at the scene. 21-Year-Old Killed After Crashing Into Reservoir In Greenburgh, Police Say A 21-year-old motorist died after crashing into a reservoir in the region. Westchester resident Andrew D. Akroush, age 21, of Yonkers, was killed around 4:30 a.m., Sunday, March 13 on the Sprain Brook Parkway in Greenburgh. Five Injured In Head-On Long Island Crash Involving Drunk Driver, Police Say Five people suffered non-life-threatening injuries after being hit head-on by an alleged unlicensed drunk driver who was carrying a loaded gun. 21-Year-Old Killed In Rollover Wilton Crash A local man was killed in a rollover crash in Fairfield County. Brandon G. Cux Calima, age 21, of Stamford, was killed around 6:50 a.m., Saturday, March 12 in Wilton. When officers arrived on the scene, they found Cux Calima in the vehicle on Route 7, between Old Mill Road and New Street, said Lt. Gregg Phillipson, of the Wilton Police.
