Westport Fire Marshal Concerned About Gas Hoarding As the cost of gas soars in Connecticut and across the US, one fire marshal is urging residents not to hoard fuel. Police Officer Involved In CT Crash A Connecticut police officer received minor injuries during a two-car crash. The crash occurred in New Haven County when the Hamden officer was involved in a crash with another car around 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 11, in Hamden. The crash took place at the intersection of Evergreen Avenue and School Street, said Det. Sean Dolan, of the Hamden Police Department. The officer and driver of the other vehicle were both transported to the hospital with minor injuries, Dolan added.  There were no other passengers in the vehicles. The crash remains under investigation.

26-Year-Old Airlifted After Fall From Conveyor Belt In Melville Police are investigating an industrial accident that seriously injured a Long Island man. Nassau County resident, Timothy Baumann, age 26, of Merrick, injured his arm after falling off a conveyor belt at Rason Asphalt, located at 136 Spagnoli Road, in Melville, at 8 a.m., Friday, March 11. Baumann was airlifted by helicopter to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow for treatment of serious injuries, said the Suffolk County Police. The student was charged on Thursday, March 10 at Poughkeepsie Middle School, said Irwin Goldberg, the public information officer for the Poughkeepsie School District.
