Police Searching For Shooter Who Wounded One In Area Police in the Hudson Valley are searching for a shooter who wounded a 23-year-old man. The incident took place in Orange County around 8:50 p.m., Tuesday, March 8 in the area of 69 South St., in Newburgh, police said. City of Newburgh officers responded to the area after receiving a ShotSpotter notification, but on the way, were directed to Montefiore-St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital where a victim was found with a gunshot wound to his leg, Newburgh Police said. Man Nabbed For Sexual Abuse Of A Child In Area A man has been arrested following a month-long investigation into the sexual abuse of a child in the Hudson Valley. Herald J. Bodensiek, age 64, of Edison, New Jersey, was arrested on Tuesday, March 8, following the investigation by the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office. "At this time Mr. Bodensiek is accused of having sexual contact with a child," said Capt. John Watterson of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office. Man Accused Of Threatening To Blow Up Building In Area, Police Say An area man who was mad at his social service caseworker allegedly threatened to blow up a building. Ulster County resident Evan Carlaw, age 47, of Kingston, was arrested on Friday, March 4, and charged with making a terroristic threat and aggravated harassment. Deputies arrested Carlaw after he became upset while speaking with a social service caseworker over the phone and then made threats to blow up the building, the Ulster County Sheriff's Office said. Carlaw was arraigned and released on his own recognizance.

Body Found After Vehicle Bursts Into Flames In Riverhead A body was discovered inside a burnt-out car on Long Island when officials responded to a report of a fire. Police and fire officials in Riverhead responded around 10:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 8 to the driveway of a home at 2 Sebastian Drive in Baiting Hollow. One Killed In Crash Involving School Bus, State Police Patrol Vehicle In Hudson Valley One person was killed during a crash in the Hudson Valley between a New York State Police patrol vehicle and a school bus. The crash took place around 3:15 p.m., Tuesday, March 8 in Dutchess County on Route 55 and South Cross Road in LaGrange. County Executive In Hudson Valley Deploying To Europe With Navy Reserves A Hudson Valley county executive will be shipping off to Europe with the US Navy as part of the effort to help Ukraine and the ongoing conflict in the region.
