Teen Dies After House Fire Breaks Out In Hampden County A teen was killed and an adult seriously injured during a raging house fire in Western Massachusetts, authorities announced. It happened in Hampden County around 9 a.m., Wednesday, March 9 at a home in Agawam. Agawam firefighters responded to the area of Squire Lane following a 911 call, said Agawam Fire Chief Alan Sirois. Man Accused Of Making Graffiti, Including Swastika, In Port Jefferson Station A Long Island man has been arrested for allegedly making graffiti that included such images as a swastika and other hate messages. Carol Vario, age 51, undomiciled, was arrested by Suffolk County Police on Wednesday, March 9, for the incident which took place on Friday, March 4 in Port Jefferson Station. Fatal Area Crash Involving Police Cruiser, School Bus Now Under Investigation By NY AG The investigation into a fatal crash between a school bus and a state police patrol vehicle that left one dead has been taken over by the state Attorney General's Office. 17-Year-Old Killed In Old Westbury Crash Between BMW, Bus A 17-year-old was killed during a crash between a car and a NICE bus on Long Island. The crash took place in Old Westbury around 2:50 p.m., Wednesday, March 9 on Glen Cove Road. The male teen was driving a 2019 BMW southbound on Glen Cove Road in the vicinity of Hewlett Drive and crossed over the median, striking a NICE Bus, said the Nassau County Police. Police Officer's Car Struck In CT Shooting A police officer's car was hit by gunfire while working an off-duty job in Connecticut. The incident took place in New Haven County around 11 p.m., Tuesday, March 8 at Bowlero located at 1717 Boston Post Road, in Milford. Man Dies After Rescuing Grandchildren In Area House Fire, Police Say An area grandfather died after saving his two grandchildren from a fire that destroyed a Hudson Valley home. The fire broke out in Putnam County around 10 p.m., Tuesday, March 8, at a home on Scarsdale Road in Lake Carmel, a hamlet in the town of Kent.
