Person Struck, Killed By Train In Fairfield County
A person was struck and killed after jumping in front of a train in Fairfield County, authorities said.
The unidentified person was hit around 6:30 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 1 at the Stamford Train Station, said the MTA.
The person was pronounced dead on the scene, they added.
As a result, the 5:40 a.m. train from Waterbury to Stamford was canceled at South Norwalk, however, customers were accommodated by the 6:11 a.m. train from Danbury to Grand Central Terminal and the 6:16 a.m. train from New Haven to Grand Central Terminal, MTA officials said.
There were minor train delays as a result.

Relocated Hudson Valley Resident Goes Missing After Leaving For Walk
A former Hudson Valley man is missing and may be trying to make it back to his longtime home.
Ex-Dutchess County resident Ralph Whitehead, who lived in Fishkill, just recently moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and has been missing since Friday, Jan. 28.
Police said he has no phone, wallet, or vehicle but according to family members he kept stating that Fishkill was his address.
At the time he went missing, Whitehead was wearing black pants and a blue-toned grey T-shirt in freezing cold temperatures.

Fairfield County Man Busted For Renovating Home Without Contractor's License, Police Say
A Fairfield County man has been arrested for allegedly renovating an area home without a contractor's license, or getting the permits or inspections.
John Tate, age 65, of Weston, was arrested on Wednesday, Jan. 26, by Wilton Police for performing the renovations on a Wilton home.
His arrest is the result of an investigation related to extensive remodeling work on the victim's residence, Wilton Police said.

Man Charged After Cops Seize 1,500 Bags Of Heroin, $250K In Cash In Springfield
A Western Massachusetts man has been arrested after allegedly being caught with 1,500 bags of heroin and more than $250,000 in cash.
Hampden County resident Alvaro Flores, age 61, of Holyoke was arrested on Wednesday, Jan. 26 following a multi-agency investigation that led to a search warrant of his home, said Ryan Walsh, spokesman for the Springfield Police.
During the search agents seized more than 1500 bags of heroin and a loaded firearm, Walsh said.
An additional search warrant led detectives to a safety deposit box where an additional $257,000 in cash was seized, Walsh said.
