Raid At Northern Westchester Home Nets Some 60 Guns, Ammunition, Police Say Police turned up something they weren't expecting in a quiet, expansive neighborhood in Northern Westchester, some 60 guns, and gun parts as well as a large amount of ammunition. McTernan, who headed the South Orangetown Ambulance Corps in Rockland County, began his healthcare career when he was 16 when he became a youth corps member, the department said. Two Detectives Suspended Over Handling Of Investigation Of Fairfield County Woman's Death Two Fairfield County detectives have been suspended over the handling of an investigation into the deaths of two women including Lauren Smith-Fields. 6-Year-Old Girl Run Over By Jeep While Sledding On Long Island, Police Say A 6-year-old Long Island girl was injured after being run over while sledding in a parking lot by a relative who was loading a Jeep Wranger that began to roll and hit the child. The incident took place around noon, on Sunday, Jan. 30 in the parking lot of Southampton Youth Services, said Lt. Susan Ralph, of the Southampton Town Police. Nor'easter: Number Of Long Island Deaths During Storm Reaches Four The number of people who have died on Long Island during the worst winter Nor'easter in several years has reached four. The first man drowned at about 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, in Suffolk County after falling into a swimming pool while clearing snow at his home in Cutchogue, said Southold Police Det. Arthur Corso, age 58, of Island Park, was arrested in Long Beach on Thursday, Jan. 27, by the Nassau County Police.
