Weeks Of Full Closures Planned For Portion Of Long Island Expressway Scheduled roadwork could spell delays for Long Island drivers in the coming weeks. Both directions of the Long Island Expressway are scheduled to close overnight at Exit 63 in the Town of Brookhaven for two weeks, beginning on Tuesday, Sept. 5. The eastbound lanes of I-495 are scheduled to close from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., while the westbound lanes will shut down between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., according to the Department of Transportation. Brent Henry, age 59, of Riverhead, was indicted on murder charges in Suffolk County Court on Thursday, Aug. 31, in the death of Ines Reyes. Roadside Tragedy: Sister Killed, 2 Brothers Injured After Being Hit Jogging On Long Island A 22-year-old woman has died after being struck by a car while jogging on a Long Island roadway in a crash that also left her two brothers hospitalized. The crash happened at around 8:20 a.m. in Commack, on Harned Road near Donna Court, according to Suffolk County Police. Investigators said Ilona Kaydanov and her brothers, ages 13 and 20, were jogging in a single file on the northbound shoulder of Harned Road when they were struck by a Chrysler Voyager. Keionna Hood, of Schenectady, pleaded guilty in connection with the attack in Albany County Court on Tuesday, Aug. 29. Jury Convicts 23-Year-Old For Murder Of Former Football Standout Inside Capital Region Home More than two years after a former high school football standout was gunned down inside his home in the region, one of the men responsible has been convicted of murder. Kyle Hutchinson, age 23, of Schenectady, was found guilty of second-degree murder and related charges in Rensselaer County Court on Wednesday, Aug. 30, in the killing of 19-year-old Nathanial Miller. Alert Issued For Missing 17-Year-Old From Capital Region Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing teenager from the region. Fulton County resident Harmmony Lamont, age 17, of Johnstown, was reported missing Wednesday, Aug. 30, according to police. Investigators said she may be Johnstown or Gloversville.
